Master the Troubleshooting of Magnetic Separator

The magnetice drum separator can separate the raw materials with different magnetic rigidities. The machine works under the magnetic force and machine force. Magnetic Separators are designed to recover ferromagnetic materials. The separators are available in designs and sizes to provide solutions for all applications. The heart of each separator is the magnetic system with its unique design, which has a proven record of high efficiency. The magnetic separation machines are available in cyclic design with process vessel diameters from 220 mm to 3,050 mm.




Generally speaking, there are below reasons that usually cause magnetic separator troubleshooting:

1. Magnetic field intensity weakened

Reasons: 1) Over-high temperature; 2) Sunlight exposure; 3) Acid and alkali corrosion. The magnetic separator consists of engine base, up magnetic system and down magnetic system, rotor, hollow axle, concentrate slot, driving service, etc. The clearance between rotor and up and down magnetic system must be precise, the limiting clearance deviation should be less than 0+1mm.

2. The magnetic separator makes unusual noise when running, the cylinder get stuck by obstacles, even cannot rotate.

Its main reason is stuck by objects in bottom case, or magnetic fall off, which made the barrel crackles, if more seriously, the barrel skin will be scratched. Under this circumstance, the machine should be stopped to maintenance and remove the faults.

3.The motor is overheating or making unusual noise.

There are usually below reasons that may cause the motor overheating and abnormal voice: 1) Poor bearing lubrication or bad wear; 2) Fan leaves fall off or wear; 3) Bad contact of switching circuit or single-phase break fault; 4) Over-low voltage.

4. Reducer overheating

Main reason: 1) insufficient oil or oil with bad quality; 2) Serious wear between gear and worm; 3) Poor bearing lubrication or bad wear.
